CHOCOLATE SMOOTHIE BOWL WITH BLUEBERRIES
CHOCOLATE SMOOTHIE BOWL
This is my new go to breakfast recipe. It is so delicious, you feel like you're eating desert for breakfast. Luckily, it is actually really healthy and has helped me lose six pounds in the last week and a half. I have been struggling to lose the weight that I gained when I was in my last year of school in Montreal for the past six years. I've tried literally everything and my weight never changed. I worked out everyday...and nothing. I tried different diets...and nothing. I went to see a nutritionist...and nothing. Nothing worked for me until I came across the blog Liezl Jayne. I honestly can't say enough good things about her website. It is filled with healthy and delicious recipes that help you lose weight as well as different exercises you can do. I adapted this recipe from one of her smoothie recipes. It's essentially the same except I make mine thicker so it's more of a smoothie bowl than a smoothie and I added the sliced strawberries.
I am planning to put together a diet and exercise post once I am a little further into my weight loss journey. I've searched the depths of the web for help these past six years and I want to try and help anyone I can with the knowledge I now have.
1 banana, sliced and frozen
1/2 cup water
1 handful of ice cubes
4 tsp cocoa powder
1 handful fresh blueberries
2 tbsp cacao nibs
Place frozen banana, avocado, water, ice cubes and cocoa powder in a blender ( I use a ninja blender). Once the lid is secured, press crush and blend the ingredients until smooth. When the ingredients have blended together check to see if they the consistency of soft serve ice cream (thick enough to eat it with a spoon) If it isn't quite as thick as you would like, throw in a few more ice cubes and blend until smooth. Once the mixture has reached your desired consistency, poor it out into a bowl and top with blueberries and cocoa bins.
