PAMPERING YOURSELF IN YOUR THIRD TRIMESTER

We should never need a reason to pamper ourselves, however there seems like no better time to treat yourself than when you’ve hit that third trimester milestone in your pregnancy.

I had been expressing my frustration to my husband with how little I was able to do these days, especially with having been so sick throughout the duration of this pregnancy.

He came home a few days later with a bag of goodies and the sweetest card. He had taken our dog Louie with him to Sephora and Lush where he worked with the sales associates to find some pregnancy safe beauty and relaxation products that I could use at home to feel refreshed. Louie even sniffed out a few products himself.

I’m not one to usually treat myself to things like this so I of course was extremely emotional and touched when he did this for me. It’s one of the most thoughtful things anyone’s ever done for me.

I found it was the perfect way to relax my body and mind while prepping for labour. It’s actually become my new ritual to take a warm bath while listening to my hypnobirthing audiobook which really talks about how important it is to be in a calm, relaxed and focus state of mind when in labour so this has been the perfect preperation. I wanted to share what he bought me with all of you so you can treat yourselves or give the loved-ones in your life a little nudge to treat you too.

WHAT HE BOUGHT

Sephora

  • Caudalie, Vinergetic C+ Instant Detox Mask

    • I’ve loved this mask so far. My face was so much brighter after using it. It’s especially nice to have a brightening face mask these days when I feel so tired and low on energy.

    • I like to use this one in the bath while relaxing and listening to my hypnobirthing audiobook.

  • Caudalie, Vinosource-Hydra Moisturizing Mask

    • I use this one before bed on days when my skin feels really dry and need of extra moisture. I’ve had really dry skin the last few weeks so this was perfect.

  • Caudalie, Grape Water Moisturizing Face Mist

    • This can be sprayed on your skin after you get out of the shower as a little refresher and I love it! It’s such a special treat to be able to pamper yourself even when you’re just working through your normal morning routine.

    • (I’ll be bringing this in my hospital bag)

LUSH

  • Lush, Deep Sleep Bath Bomb

    • This purple lavender and chamomile bath bomb instantly transformed my normal boring bath into a relaxing oasis. The bomb smells incredible, it was filled with lavender and chamomile blooms and coloured the bath a beautiful purple.

  • Lush, Massage Bar, Sleep

    • I love this bar, especially now that my back and legs have really been starting to bother me as my belly gets bigger and bigger.

  • Lush, Body Butter, Buffy Soap

    • I love this soap as well, it’s so nice to exfoliate my skin while moisturizing it, especially since my eczema made a resurgence in the last few weeks which can be quite common in pregnancy. I’ve also been using some Aveeno eczema and chamomile lotions and body washes to help with this.

Now draw yourself a bath, grab your favourite candles, turn down the lights and enjoy a relaxing bath, you’ve more than earned it.
