Life is unpredictable and that's hard to manage. I'm not afraid to admit that I have had a stressful year both personally and professionally but I've found ways that really help me manage stress day to day. Here's what helps me the most:
I am lucky enough to work at the Lululemon head office where they provide daily meditation. When life gets a little stressful, I make time for a 30 minute meditation. Meditation can seem a little scary if you haven't tried it but it can be anything you want it to be. Meditation to me is taking a little time out of my day to de-stress and focus on something other than all of the things I still have to cross off of my to-do list. This really helps me recharge in the middle of a stressful day, find my breath and refocus on my work
SWEAT IT OUT
One of my favourite ways to de-stress these days is to hit the gym or the mat and sweat it out. When I am at the gym swimming, on the treadmill, lifting weights or practicing yoga I am focused completely on myself and my health. Working out in the evening helps me recharge after a long day at work. When I get home I am relaxed and ready for bed.
ESSENTIAL OILS + FAce MISTS
I am obsessed with essential oils and face mists. They are a great way to quickly reset wherever you are. If you don't have time for meditation or a quick sweat session grab a face spritz or a role on oil to help you de-stress. Personally, I love the peppermint halo roll on oil from saje wellness (pictured above)
My favourite face mists are the saje rose hydrating euphoric mist and the woodlot refreshing mist. Just a quick spritz on your face is so calming. I love to spritz when I am trying to relieve stress, about to go for a workout or when I am about to go to bed. It helps me reset my mind.
I saved the best for last. You may not like meditating or working out but pretty much everyone loves a good massage. Massages are a great way to unwind after a long, stressful day or workout. It's also a great way to reconnect with your partner. I love this apres sport bath, body and massage oil from saje wellness. I love to use it after an intense workout. Get your partner to massage it into your skin to relax your muscles after a long day or hard work out and you can do the same for them.
