OUR 2018 GOALS
Nick and I decided to create goals for the year as a couple this year. I am really excited about this. Resolutions are easy to forget but goals are items on a list that you can work toward checking off. I also love the idea of doing this as a couple because we can hold each other accountable and make sure we stick to our goals.
Here's what we are going to be working on this year:
SPEND TIME WITH FAMILY
Nothing is more important than family in our household so Nick and I are dedicated to making sure we see family at least once every two weeks.
TRAVEL TO EUROPE
Nick and I have been talking about travelling to Europe together since we first started seeing each other almost six years ago. We were watching 'Call Me By Your Name' which takes place in Northern Italy and we both turned to one another immediately after and said "We have to go". We talked with our family and the plan is to travel as a family to England, Scotland and Ireland in 2020 and Nick and I will figure out how we can spend our honeymoon in either Italy, France or Greece or if we're lucky all three.
GO CAMPING IN TOFINO
We've also been talking about going camping in Tofino for so long and we are going to make it happen this year!
CELEBRATE OUR RELATIONSHIP AND ENGAGEMENT
We recognize that being engaged is a very special period of time in our relationship and we can't wait to celebrate it with all the people who have played such a special role in our lives and in our relationship as a couple.
SAVE FOR A HOME + GET EDUCATED
First comes a wedding, then comes marriage then comes something in a baby carriage. We are so excited to make our life the life of our dreams and with that comes a home for us to grow in. We are dedicated to putting away as much as we can to save for our dream home and to learn as much as we can about the process of buying a home.
Recycle anything we can and save energy
We are dedicated to being as ecologically friendly as possible. Re-usable shopping bags, recycling, big loads of laundry with cold water, turning the lights off...etc. We are going to do our part to reduce our footprint on this beautiful world.
clear out and organize
Rather than spending money on things we don't need we are going to focus on cleaning out our home by getting rid of the things that just clutter up our home and our lives. Instead we'll be saving our money for trips, our wedding and our future home.
take dance lessons
I've been trying to get Nick to take dance lessons with me for so long and this past Christmas he gave me the best gift of dance lessons! I can't wait to get our dance on!
Last year we had so much fun going to the Orpheum to watch movies with live music. It was one of the highlights of the year for us. This year we want to continue doing that but also go watch plays. I used to go all of the time and for some reason have never gone to one while I've been living in Vancouver. We also want to watch improv theatre and take part!
We will work together this year to plan an amazing wedding! Most of all we are dedicated to enjoying the whole experience because we are only going to do this once!
