NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONs

Thank goodness, 2017 is finally here! This is the first year I have really been excited for the start of a new year. My parents put a cute little book in my stocking this year called "The Lists Project; A year of weekly journaling inspiration" and it's really gotten me excited for 2017. Each week you fill out a different list. The first week of the year asked me to list my goals and dreams for the year so I thought I would share them here!

Last year, I didn't write my goals down and didn't hold myself accountable for them so I never really followed through. I am hoping that this year will be different. For some reason putting pen to paper has always helped me so here's hoping! 

ONE

GET BACK IN SHAPE

I actually started on this goal late last year when I purchased a gym membership. Over the past few years I've found a way to put exercise on the back burner and I am over it. I started feeling really tired and unhappy and I knew I needed to change something. After researching all of the gyms around me I decided on the YMCA. It was too good to pass up, it was close by, they offered unlimited fitness classes, had tons of cardio machines, areas to lift weights, stretch...etc. They even have a gym and a pool. I have always loved to swim so that was the icing on the cake for me. I am going to continue making fitness a priority this year and get back to feeling fit, happy and healthy.

TWO

MAKE MY BED EVERYDAY

I hope my mom isn't reading this, but I have to admit that I don't always find the time to make my bed. I always end up laying in bed a few minutes too long and end up rushing out the door to work. This year I am going to go out of my way to make sure my bed is made everyday. It may not always be made when I leave the house in the morning but it will be made at some point in the day.

keep the house clean

I am a pro when it comes to tidying but if you talk to my boyfriend, I have a thing or to to learn about cleaning. I am going to make it a priority this year to make sure the house is clean not just tidy.

FOUR

THE SUNSET CHALLENGE

I am really excited about this one. I am going to make a point of watching a sunset every month this year and I am going to document it to prove it. I want to put together a compilation of one sunset each month for the entire year, no matter where I am, no matter what the weather.

FIVE

STOP EATING OUT

This goal will help with my first goal. I am going to limit eating out to once a month. It will be better for my waistline and for my wallet. 

SIX

LIVE EVERY DAY LIKE YOU'RE PLAYING SURVIVOR

This is my favourite goal this year. Anyone that knows me, knows that I have an unhealthy obsession with the reality show Survivor. I listen to podcasts, I talk strategy with anyone that will listen, I watch old seasons during the off season, I watch each episode about 30 times per week, analyzing the game play, relationships...etc. Like I said, it's an unhealthy obsession. However, I've found a way to channel this obsession into a positive. The only draw back to being a Canadian is that you cannot apply to be on Survivor, however I have a powerful imagination and am using it for motivation in the gym. Every time I swim laps at the gym I pretend I am in a challenge and it really pushes me to "Dig Deep".
